November's almost gone! How time flies... Still no definite word on upcoming shows, but rumors are flying about something happening the week of X-mas. Stay tuned.
In other news, Ali and Jason can be seen with their latest endeavor, The Weather Machines on December 14 with Two Gallants, location TBA. They will have an abundance of Bee Eaters CDs in tow. Um... CDs make terrific holiday gifts. For reals.
We neglected to mention that of the four songs posted on the music page, only Get Lost is on the CD. We'll likely not be seen performing in public for a few months. Maybe over the winter holiday season? Good luck with the kids, Jack! Um... that's all.
We're back. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us; we had a really great time in the vast majority of the places we stopped. The following people are due especially large debts of gratitude. Ben, Matt, and the crew at the terrific Hi-Dive/Sputnik in Denver, Micah and Peter for popping in on us in Denver, Jack + roomates (and immodest photogenic ex-tenant) in Colorado Springs, Jeremy in San Diego, Kristi, Miguel, and Sofia in Oceanside, Annie in Oceanside for surfing lessons for Mike, The DeMersseman/Holberts in Berkeley for providing a home away from home for Ali and Jason, Brandy and Ken in SF, Cielo in Portland for debunking the saggy bags of fat myth (but it's true, we've since found!!!), Monica in Portland for being "rad", Jason's dad for making the drive down from Great Falls to Missoula, Rob and Chuck at the Zebra in Bozeman forthe great recording and letting us letting us sneak onto the bill, Brett, Nel, and the gang in Bozeman for good times and celluar tenacity. Thanks most of all to Pat and Erika for volunteering a few weeks of their summer apart for our sake. Thanks also to Matson Jones, Longmarch, Whysall Lane, Water School, and Valedictorian.
We have the four-song EPs for sale. You can order them online for $4.00 ppd from our alter-egos at Tigers Against Crime.
Ah, the smell of exhaust and the deafening roar throughout the hills! It can only mean that it's time once again for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Owing to the fact that we've refused to wear the chaps, vests, and 'welcome bikers' T-shirts handed out to all area residents by the city, we've been asked to leave town for the duration of the rally. Luckily, we were able to land a few dates out west, so our two-week banishment will be spent driving around in the recently babe-magnetized van, visiting friends and family, and trying to comprehend how we'll ever find the stamina to play five entire shows in such a short period of time. We'll have our friend Pat (Math-Pat-ica to his friends) filling in on drums for Jack who is currently awaiting sentencing in the Pennington County Jail for uttering "I hate motorcycles" in the presence of a minor. A damnable offense, we assure you.
The 6-song EP, sadly, became a 6-minus-2-equals-4-song EP. We'll have that with us on tour. It's actually more of a single for Get Lost, which you can hear on the music page. Ironically, due to motorcycle traffic and drummer importing/exporting logistics, we've been unable to come up with an RC show before tour. We'll be back the 19th or 20th; If you have a show set up for that weekend that we could invade, email us.
We've blurred the list of prospective tour dates a bit. We're not the rigid, unyielding robots you might think. Stay tuned as August dates are added... Beep.
Most of the recording is complete for a 6-song EP that should be ready in August, and we are in the process of mixing and adding some final touches. We're very mixed-up about mixing and very touchy about the final touches.
Well, folks, just in time for summer, the site gets a springtime make-over. Whoops.
Sadly, that's not the biggest change facing us these days with the tearful departure of Jack to Colorado for graduate school. But fear not! The future is bright and we are working harder than ever, confident as teenage sweethearts that our long-distance relationship will work just fine.
Recordings for our long-awaited EP are mostly complete and waiting with baited breath for mixing and mastering. The EP should be done in time for our tenatively planned August tour. Unfortunately, Jack's absence will see a drastic reduction in our already meager performance schedule until then. Details of the tour can be found on the performances page. If you live in any of those areas and are inclined to help us out with shows, food, or audiences, please let us know. We would rather the tour had the tone of the "You Give Love A Bad Name" video than the "Wanted Dead Or Alive" video, as we don't care for the hard road life. However, we are, how you say... poorly connected.
We also added some pictures to the band info page. Sadly we've got too few members for a proper Hollywood Squares match, and no guest star to put in the center.
New songs are up on the music page. Enjoy.
We had a fantastic time this Thanksgiving weekend. Mike's sushi party was a huge success, and it was great seeing everyone back for the holidays. Unfortunately, we won't be playing over the Christmas/New Year holiday period as the travel bug has bitten a certain drummer. The month of March will see us in a similar state (sans traveling guitar player), but we will be looking to play some shows in RC and the hills around mid-January through February.
Well, sorry we missed everyone in Spearfish last Thursday. The flu, we've found, can be very... shall we say, unpleasant. Luckily, we're now pictures of health (knock on wood) and ready to go tonight. Hope to see you there.
